The history of Kakhuri Gvinis Marani is a century old and is a continuation of the 8000-year-old tradition of wine production in Georgia. The love of vines and wine production gave rise to the idea of founding the company. Today, the company Kakhuri Gvinis Marani owns 600 hectares of vineyards of unique Georgian endemic grape varieties in different microzones of Kakheti. These vineyards are the foundation for the top quality of the company’s products – wines and spirits.
The organization’s winery, located in the heart of Kakheti, in Gurjaani, is equipped with both ancient Qvevri and modern cutting-edge technologies and produces up to 40 sorts of Georgian wine and high-alcohol drinks. The assortment includes many types of local wines aged in Qvevri and oak, as well as strong alcoholic drinks, namely: brandy of different aging, and traditional Georgian Chacha – classic, aged in oak, honey, tarragon, citrus, and muscat. The products are successfully sold in more than 30 countries of the world, including the USA, England, Poland, Germany, Latvia, Italy, France, Netherlands, Singapore, China, Turkey, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, and others.
Kakhuri Gvinis Marani is focused on growth and development, which is why in the last ten years it has received more than a hundred awards at the most prestigious competitions in the world, the most of these awards are gold and platinum medals. It should be noted that at the famous Hong Kong international wine competition HKIWSC, the company’s wine Saperavi won the gold medal and Trophy as the best Eastern European Wine.
By combining the traditions of Georgian winemaking and ultra-modern technologies, the company successfully operates in the growing markets of the world, which significantly contributes to the promotion of Georgian wine.
At the Decanter Wine Awards held in London, in 2021 the wine Cabernet-Saperavi Qvevri won the highest award, The Best In Show, and at the International Wine Awards held in 2021, Kindzmarauli wine – received a Trophy and the Gold Medal in the best semi-sweet wine category.
