The Winery Rtoni was founded in 2017 in the village of Ruispiri in the Kakheti region. The philosophy of the winery is the combination of traditional winemaking techniques and the innovatory approach of minimal intervention into the natural processes.
The grape varieties planted in the winery vineyards include Georgian indigenous ones, such as Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Khikhvi, Saperavi, and the worldwide famous – Gewurztraminer, Muscat Hamburger, and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are treated carefully, and with respect to the natural approach. Grapes ripen under the Kakheti sun and are picked at full maturity. Thanks to the terroir, the grape takes the maximum from the Sun and the soil. This is where the intense flavors and complex body of Rtoni wines come from. Rtoni is a Georgian word that means “branches”. They carry life inside themselves and deliver it to the grape berries.
Rtoni wines are perfectly paired with traditional Georgian cuisine and they finely complement Asian and Mediterranean dishes.
Since 2021, Rtoni wines are available on the local market, in the main restaurants and wine shops of Georgia.
Today, Rtoni wines are exported to the US, Italy, Ukraine, Belgium, and Kazakhstan markets, and continue to expand to the other markets.
Rtoni wines are becoming more and more popular among professionals and wine lovers all over the world.
Giorgi Skhirtladze, the winemaker and one of the owners of Rtoni winery, is the author and inspirer behind Rtoni wines.
